Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle Review
Wanting to go on a diet is a good choice; wanting to choose a safe and healthy diet is a great choice; which diet to choose out of all the diets available in the market these days becomes a difficult choice. That’s where reviews come in.
Here we’re going to review Tom Venuto’s ‘Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle’. We’ll see what the pros are, what the cons are and then you can see if it’s the right fit for you in your battle to reduce man boobs.
Pro: The diet approaches a style that is very personalized
The ‘Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle’ diet is based on what fits your body type. It isn’t just about loosing fat, it tells you what you need and don’t need in your diet. People metabolize differently, gain and lose weight differently and process food differently. Two people who weigh the same can’t necessarily loose the same amount of weight if they eat the same kinds and amount of food. One may need a much lower carbohydrates intake in order to flourish while the other might do better on a diet heavy in complex carbohydrates.
With the ‘Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle’ you’ll learn what kind of body type you are. With that information you’ll then learn what kind of diet and what kind of fitness plan will better work for you. This is the personalizing part, and with such a personalized plan that you can adjust to suit you the theory is you should result in more weight loss than if you were on a generic diet.
Pro: There’s a lot of nutritional information so you know what kind of food, vitamins etc. are really going to help your diet
If you’ve ever wondered what you really need to eat and what you should stay away from and WHY, it’s all in here. You can find out everything you need about nutrition and nutrition in relation to your body type. Tom Venuto gives you the facts about what vitamins you need, what you need to know about macro-nutrients and that confusing subject of calories is discussed and explained. You know you’ll learn all that there is to learn as nutrition is covered in 270 pages!
There are comprehensive guides to help you determine your base metabolic rate and caloric needs.
Pro: The diet doesn’t stop at what you purchase, upgrades are available
With this book, you get all the basic information you need. But people still have questions and want answers, so aside from the book you can purchase supplemental information such as a series of author interviews. You can also subscribe to Tom Venuto’s website where you’ll find many useful articles that provide months of reading, you’ll find features calculators, recipes, and product reviews and something very important for any dieter, forums that are active and filled with answers and advice.
All this information is great for someone looking to not just lose weight but who also wants to change their dieting lifestyle. If you just want to shed a few quick pounds however then the information can be overwhelming, which leads us to our first con.
Con: The information is too much for someone who’s just casually dieting
If you are in fact a casual dieter, meaning you’re just looking to lose a few pounds then move on with the way you’ve been living your life, then reading this review on ‘Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle’ rather than the book itself has saved you a lot of time. The book alone is 341 pages long, then there are the freebies, then there are all the extras, the information on the website and so on. It’s too much information for a short one time diet.
Another thing about the way the book is written is from the point of view of a body builder, which is what Venuto is. Body Builders don’t look at how much you weigh in proportion to your height, it’s about the percent of fat in your body. The information is very informative but rather heavy on the body builders side.
Con: There isn’t much details when it comes to exercising
Exercise is very important for body building and for losing weight especially chest fat and it is mentioned in the book, but only about 25 pages each for cardio exercise and weight training compared to the almost 300 pages on nutrition.
What Venuto does mention in the book is how exercise affects the body and he gives a sort of list of the types of exercises you can do. Details on how to do those exercises is not included and it depends on you to do the rest of the research or ask someone at the gym. Exercises are not as effective when done improperly so this is an important step left out.
‘Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle’ is a great book for loosing weight and the added bonus is that you can get any of your weightlifting questions answered and if you’re looking for long-term weight loss there’s a lot you can learn. But just like most diets, it isn’t for everyone.
