Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle Review

Posted by Yeremi Akpan

Dieting is a great way for people to lose weight and get in shape, there are however so many diets out there that choosing one is rather difficult. Choosing the wrong one can also lead to a person feeling like they’ve failed when in reality it didn’t work for them because they did the right thing for the wrong body type.

So here’s Tom Venuto’s ‘Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle’ diet review. By reading this review you’ll know whether this diet can work for you, and if not, there are many others to choose from.

Pro: A personalized diet is said to work out better for any individual, and it can’t get any more personalized than this

Some diets are based on eating less, drinking certain juices, running X number of miles a day or saying bye-bye to a certain food group. ‘Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle’ doesn’t base its diet on things like that, rather it’s based on the individual.

First you’ll learn what your body type is, the according to your body type you’ll learn what you can and can’t eat, what you should and shouldn’t avoid and how much of what is needed on a daily basis. Since everyone metabolizes differently, this approach makes sense.

Pro: All you need to know about nutrition is covered in the book

Sometime it’s confusing when diets tell you to only have these many carbohydrates a day, only this amount of calories and all that other nutritional stuff that confuses you. With ‘Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle’, nutrition is covered in 270 pages! You can get information any clearer than that. You will now know the facts about macronutrients, vitamins, and calories and you can even determine your base metabolic rate and caloric needs.

Pro: Your dieting knowledge doesn’t stop at the book, there’s more

After you’re done reading the book you can still learn more by either purchasing a series of author interviews or subscribing to Venuto’s web site. On the website alone there’s enough information to last you a couple of months of reading and it features calculators, recipes, and product reviews and forums from people who’ve done the diet as well.

Here comes our first con, all this information is way too much for someone who just looking to lose a bit of weight or who just wants to lose the pounds eating/drinking something and not learning about how.

Con: The casual dieter could be overwhelmed

As you’ve read, there is a lot of information in the book. 341 pages about a diet, this could be too much information for someone looking for a quick diet guide or solution. Reading this review has saved you from reading another 340 pages! And aside from the book itself, there’s also the extra bonuses and the website.

You’re also in for a bodybuilders guide to dieting as that’s what Venuto is and that’s how he writes. Bodybuilders focus on fat percentage most of all and that’s what the book will make you feel like, dieting like the bodybuilders. Still, the information is great.

Con:

If you’re looking for as much information on exercise as the book gives on nutrition, you’ll be disappointed. The book does have about 50 pages on cardio exercises and weight training, they are not however as detailed as the information on nutrition.

What you will find is information on the kinds of exercise you could do, but how to do them is something you’ll have to figure out yourself or you’ll need to get information and help on that from another source.

There is also good information on weight lifting so you can look forward to that. In all it is a great book for dieting as it looks deep into a diet and into a person’s body type so the diet can be effective. It’s however a long process and not something a you should go for if you want the quick fix type diet.
